"Parts Unknown" host Anthony Bourdain Found Dead At 61

According to CNN the cause of death was suicide.

CNN's "Parts Unknown" host Anthony Bourdain has passed away this morning. CNN confirmed Bourdain's death and said the cause of death was suicide.

On his award-winning series, "Parts Unknown," Bourdain brought the world home to CNN viewers. Through the simple act of sharing meals, he showcased both the extraordinary diversity of cultures and cuisines, yet how much we all have in common.

"It is with extraordinary sadness we can confirm the death of our friend and colleague, Anthony Bourdain," CNN said in a statement Friday. "His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storyteller. His talents never ceased to amaze us and we will miss him very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with his daughter and family at this incredibly difficult time."

Bourdain was filming an upcoming episode of Parts Unknown in France when French chef Eric Ripert found him unresponsive in his hotel room. Bourdain was known for his TV shows and books, including A Cook's Tour and No Reservations.
